ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಿ ಅವರೀರ್ವರಲ್ಲಿ ಗಾಢವಾದ ಸ್ನೇಹ ಬೆಳೆಯಿತು..
ಬೀಳ್ಕೊಡುವ ಹೊತ್ತು ಬಂದಾಗ ಯಮದೂತ ಸೋಮುವಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ..
‘ಗೆಳೆಯಾ,ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಏನಾದರೂ ಸಹಾಯವಾಗಬೇಕಿದ್ದರೆ ಹೇಳು’..
“ನನಗೆ ಸಾವೇ ಇಲ್ಲದಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವೆಯಾ?” – ಸೋಮು ಕೇಳಿದ..!
“ಅದಾಗದು,ನನ್ನ ಕೈಮೀರಿದ ವಿಷಯವದು. ಬೇರೇನಾದರೂ ಕೇಳು”.
“ಹಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಕೊನೆಯಪಕ್ಷ ವರುಷಗಳ ಮೊದಲೇ ಸಾವಿನ ಮುನ್ಸೂಚನೆಯನ್ನಾದರೂ ನನಗೆ ನೀನು ಕೊಡಬೇಕು; ಮತ್ತು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಲು ನೀನೇ ಬರಬೇಕು…!!!”
